Sublette County Fur Tade Papers - In the spring of 2010, Sublette County and the Sublette County Historical Society acquired 100 original letters from the mountain fur trade era 1820s -1830s. Some of the papers are now available on the Museum website for viewing.

American Mountain Man "Cuz" explains how animals skins were brain tanned by the mountain men and Indians.

The Museum presents a visual and interpretative experience into the romantic era of the Mountain man and provides a comprehensive overview of the Western Fur Trade's historical significance. Situated in the heart of the country that was once the hub of the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous system (six of theBeaver hat   rendezvous of the early 1800s were held in the Green River Valley near present day Pinedale, Wyoming), the Museum stands as a monument to the men and the commerce that opened the West.
