In January of 2010, the Historical Society with help from Sublette County and private donations got a unique opportunity to acquire over 100 original papers related to the Rocky Mountain fur trade. For more details on the purchase see the press release.

Copies of some of the papers are on display at the Museum of the Mountain Man. Because they are fragile and sensitive to extended light exposure, the originals will only be on display for special occasions.

Scans of the papers are made available here free for personal, educational and research purposes. However, the papers cannot be reproduced without permission. Please review our Use Policy.

As additional papers are scanned and interpreted, they will be posted here, so please check back for updates.

Papers in accession series 2010.550.xxxx are owned by the Sublette County Historical Society. Papers in series 2010.551.xxxx are owned by Sublette County.
